Civil Union Bill & Relationships Bill Joint Submission PDF Print E-mail
ImageIn accordance with a general agreement of the NPCLN at St Mary's Church on Thursday the 5th of August 2004, the following documents were submitted to the Government's "Justice and Electoral Select Committee" in respect of the above mentioned bills.

General Stance:

NPCLN strongly oppose both the above bills. Specifically:

  • We are against the Civil Union Bill in any form. We believe there is already sufficient legislation covering civil unions, and that this bill is not in the best interest of our country. Furthermore we reject the claims that this bill is a promotion of legitimate human rights. Chris Lee will speak further to this.
  • We are against the Relationships Bill in its current form, which has relationship neutrality as one of its guiding principles. The Rev Paul Prestidge will explain our submission on this bill.
